A BOGUS poster handed out at EastLink's community day has been described as "bizarre" by a Wantirna resident.
Warren Sheedy says his mother, Anne, received a range of promotional material for EastLink when she attended its community day earlier this month.
She found it included a poster which Mr Sheedy described as an "obnoxious prank''.
The poster, critical of the new tollway's effect on the environment says: "We bulldozed this - but hey, at least you'll be at work on time!''
It also displayed a mock-up of the EastLink logo, retitled as 'EastStink'.
"It's a bit bizarre,'' Mr Sheedy said. "I thought it was a bit obnoxious to get an old lady involved in a silly prank like that.''
James Tonkin, spokesman for the freeway's operator, ConnectEast, said people were entitled to their views, but the majority of people understood the benefits EastLink would deliver.
